Chocolate Chai

Chocolate chai is where comforting spices meet indulgent cocoa. This recipe blends the warming notes of traditional chai with the richness of chocolate, creating a drink that feels both familiar and luxurious. It’s ideal for evenings, dessert moments, or whenever you want chai to feel a little special.
Ingredients (2 mugs):

1 ½ cups water

1 cup milk

2 tsp black tea leaves

1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cardamom pods
-
1 small cinnamon stick

1–2 tsp sugar or sweetener (to taste)

Optional: small pinch of nutmeg
Method:

Simmer spices: Add water, cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg to a saucepan. Simmer 4–5 minutes.

Add tea: Add black tea and simmer 1–2 minutes.

Whisk cocoa: In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder with a few tablespoons of hot chai liquid to remove lumps.

Add milk & cocoa: Pour milk and cocoa mixture into the pot. Stir well.

Sweeten & simmer: Add sugar and simmer gently 1–2 minutes.

Strain & serve: Strain and serve hot.
