Started with two coffee makers and a farmers market tent.
Harvest Market didn't begin in a roastery. It began with two standard coffee makers at the Snohomish County Psychological Society — a borrowed table, a simple setup, and a belief that coffee could be more than a morning routine.
From there, we learned to roast. Not in a classroom — in a small space, one batch at a time, tasting, adjusting, repeating until the cup tasted right. We became a licensed Washington State Department of Agriculture food processor, which meant learning the real requirements: food safety, labeling, nutrition compliance, and what it actually takes to put a product on a shelf.
Along the way we mastered the art of coffee — and then went further. Functional coffee. Mushroom blends. Nutrition science. Food labeling regulations as they pertain to coffee. The kind of knowledge that takes years and can't be faked.
