Coconut Chai

Coconut chai brings a subtle tropical richness to traditional spices. Coconut milk softens strong flavors and creates a silky mouthfeel, making this chai both comforting and refreshing.

Ingredients (2 mugs):

  • 1 ½ cups water

  • 1 cup coconut milk

  • 2 tsp black tea leaves

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 2 cardamom pods

  • Sweetener to taste

Method:

  1. Simmer spices: Simmer water, cinnamon, and cardamom 4–5 minutes.

  2. Add tea: Add tea leaves and simmer briefly.

  3. Add coconut milk: Add coconut milk gently—do not boil hard.

  4. Sweeten, strain & serve.

Flavor notes & tips:

  • Full-fat coconut milk gives best texture.

  • Avoid overboiling to prevent separation.

  • Pairs well with ginger or lemongrass.
