Rose Chai

Rose Chai

Rose chai is fragrant, floral, and delicately sweet. Inspired by South Asian desserts and drinks, this chai feels romantic and luxurious without being heavy. The key is balance—rose should gently perfume the chai, not overpower it.

Ingredients (2 mugs):

  • 1 ½ cups water

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 tsp black tea leaves

  • 2 cardamom pods

  • 1–2 tsp rose syrup (or rose water to taste)

  • Sugar (optional)

Method:

  1. Simmer spices: Bring water and cardamom to a simmer for 3–4 minutes.

  2. Add tea: Add black tea and simmer 1–2 minutes.

  3. Add milk: Add milk and gently boil.

  4. Add rose: Turn off heat and stir in rose syrup.

  5. Strain & serve: Strain and serve warm.

Flavor notes & tips:

  • Add rose after heat to preserve aroma.

  • A little goes a long way.

  • Pair with pistachios or almonds for a classic flavor match.
