Tulsi Chai (Holy Basil Tea)

Tulsi chai is soothing, aromatic, and deeply rooted in wellness traditions. Tulsi, or holy basil, has a naturally peppery, herbal flavor that pairs beautifully with black tea and gentle spices. This chai is often enjoyed for relaxation and balance.
Ingredients (2 mugs):

1 ½ cups water

1 cup milk

2 tsp black tea leaves (optional for caffeine-free version)

8–10 fresh tulsi leaves (or 1 tsp dried tulsi)

1-inch ginger, sliced

2 cardamom pods

Sweetener to taste
Method:

Simmer tulsi & ginger: Add water, tulsi, ginger, and cardamom to a saucepan. Simmer 5 minutes.

Add tea: Add black tea and simmer 1–2 minutes (skip if herbal-only).

Add milk: Add milk and sweetener, bring to a gentle boil.

Strain & serve: Strain and enjoy warm.
