Vanilla Chai

Vanilla Chai

Vanilla chai is smooth, comforting, and café-style—perfect for readers who love gentle sweetness and creamy textures. Vanilla doesn’t overpower chai spices; instead, it softens and rounds them, making this version ideal for beginners or those who prefer a dessert-like drink.

Ingredients (2 mugs):

  • 1 ½ cups water

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 tsp black tea leaves

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (or ½ vanilla bean)

  • 2 cardamom pods

  • 1 small cinnamon stick

  • Sweetener to taste

Method:

  1. Simmer spices: Bring water, cardamom, and cinnamon to a simmer for 4 minutes.

  2. Add tea: Add tea leaves and simmer 1–2 minutes.

  3. Add milk: Add milk and sweetener. Simmer gently.

  4. Finish with vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

  5. Strain & serve: Strain and serve hot.

Flavor notes & tips:

  • Always add vanilla off heat to preserve aroma.

  • Great with oat or almond milk.

  • Adjust vanilla carefully—it should enhance, not dominate.

Perfect with pastries, cakes, or as a cozy evening treat.
