Sailor Bob Coffee’s Finca Villa Betulia Catturón Honey is an exceptionally rare single-origin coffee from the high mountains of Colombia, produced in the renowned Hulia region by the Calderón family at Finca Villa Betulia.

Led by celebrated producer Luis Aníbal Calderón and now stewarded alongside his son Yeison Calderón, Finca Villa Betulia has become internationally recognized for pushing the boundaries of Colombian coffee. Sitting at 1,550 meters above sea level, the farm cultivates more than 20 rare and experimental varieties—each carefully managed to express terroir, innovation, and generational craftsmanship.

This microlot features Catturón, an extraordinarily rare natural mutation of Caturra grown on only a handful of farms worldwide. Beyond its agronomic advantages—high yield and strong leaf-rust resistance—Catturón delivers a strikingly expressive cup profile. Expect a vivid spectrum of pineapple, raspberry, strawberry, and watermelon, layered with hibiscus florals, gentle tartness, and a sangria-like juiciness that remains refined and balanced.

The Honey process (semi-washed) leaves controlled amounts of mucilage on the bean during fermentation, enhancing sweetness and complexity while preserving clarity. The result is a cup that bridges washed precision and natural fruit depth, with a rounded acidity, silky mouthfeel, and clean, elegant finish—without the volatility of heavy naturals.
